Trophies & Awards

This relates to the latest soaring season which is taken as 1 October to 30 September to coincide with the OLC year, except in the case of the Winter Cup which runs from 1 June to 31 August. Awards for State and National gliding competitions, and Coaching Week, relate to the most recently-held event. For any trophy related queries, please contact the trophies officer.

Criteria

To be awarded to the winner of a composite handicap class at State Comps, when not enough gliders for separate classes. Use GFA handicaps.

Criteria

Best performance by an SA/NT pilot in any Australian National Gliding Championship held during the year.

Pilot must be a member of a SAGA club.

Criteria

Best 3 OLC flights in a glider with performance up to and including Club Class during the OLC year (1 Oct to 30 Sep).

Pilot must be a member of a SAGA club and the flights must originate in SA/NT.

Criteria

Best flight of the year in opinion of the SAGA Trophies Officer, RSDM and President, for any achievement.

Pilot must be a member of a SAGA club.

Criteria

Highest OLC points for a single flight during the SA winter (May 1 – Aug 31).

Eligibility

Any pilot is eligible but the flight must originate in SA/NT.

For service and mentoring in glider airworthiness in SA/NT over many years.

Criteria

Outstanding service to gliding in SA/NT in past year, as assessed by SAGA President and Trophies Officer.

Eligibility

Any person providing outstanding service to gliding in SA/NT in previous years.

Criteria

Most improved/ most promising pilot at SAGA Coaching Week.
